Elise

This baby girl set is quite the same I made for my ex's newborn, the only thing that changes is the bias binding on the hooded towel. The adressee of this new baby set is Elise, a half French baby I am looking forward to meeting, hopefully before the year ends.

A few weeks ago I came across this lovely tutorial and could not resist to give it a try. Is not the cutest hen?

Elephant

In between of a crazy period of work and family issues, I have finally found a little time to take some pics of the four piece baby girl set I made  for my cousin's baby in born. These are two towelling bibs with a heart applique, a changing mat and a hooded towel with an elephant applique. 
You know how much I like grey, and think the combination with baby pink and white is kind of relaxing, do not think?
The elephant applique was meant to be for a bag, it ended up on the hood of the towel though. The ear relief makes the set funnier. 
The lovely tags I have been using lately are about to finish (only four left). I would like to get some more but it is getting hard to be able to go to craft fairs, where I know I can get them for a nice price. Last weekend a great craft fair took place in Madrid and had the best of companion (the sweetest friend willing to dive herself in the sewing world) however I could not make it in the end...
Work, family, more work, tiredness,... my issues and feelings lately. Fortunately, Christmas break is just around the corner!

Change of mind

I got this flowery fabric because it reminded me a cheap version of the liverty fabrics of London. As I mentioned in my last post I got it to make another lunch bag... Nevertheless I thought it would be nice to use it to make a baby set of hooded towel and bibs for a newborn baby girl. I am happy with the result and hope the new parents also like the fact I avoided the typical pale pink for baby, which I also love it, by the way. Yet it is good to do something different for such special little people. 

The bad thing comes when I got to the shop this morning to get some more of this fabric and it was all sold out :-(  I still got a piece of it, but not enough for the lunch bag I had in mind. 

Boy and Girl

Lately I have been sewing for a new mummy, who gave birth to two adorable boy and girl twins. I visited her to the hospital and was able to see only the boy, due to the girl had to be put in the incubator.
I am sure she will be fine very soon and her parents can take her home with her brother, who, I am sure, he is missing her after sharing that tight room for 9 months.
I have already showed, in my last two posts, what I have been making for these adorable twins, so this is the final result.

 

 

Grey is the colour II

Look at the nice baby bibs I made to match with the hooded towel I showed you in my last post.
I used to use the same pattern for all my baby bibs, which comes from the book "Bend-the-Rules". This time I have not used that one, but The Spit Bib pattern I got from "Sew Much Ado" for free!

 

 

Now that I mention certain sewing books, I am just loving this one I got for Christmas.

 

 

 

Grey is the colour

I think I have an obsession with grey colour: the walls at home, the linen and if you look at my wardrobe I have all kind of clothing in that colour: sweaters, dresses, a coat, a pair of boots, socks, etc.
And talking about future mommies a have around me I made this hooded towel for a baby who is coming very soon. Neither pink nor blue, I think pale grey is the colour that suit babies most without regard the sex. Many people associate grey with sadness but for me is calm and serenity.
Since it was the first time I made a hooded towel, this tutorial was a great help! The lovely baby gift baskets Lidia makes are also a great source of inspiration, aren't they?

Baby Boy Bibs

I must admit I am awful at IT: trying to labeling my posts properly I deleted a nice post I published around a year ago by mistake. It was titled "Olivia", you might remember I posted a few items I made for a lovely newborn girl. I also deleted all the pics I made... Anyway, to compensate that lost I am showing you some baby boy bids I made.
I used 100% percale cotton fabrics. You might remember this other bib I made with the same set of fabrics. This time I backed them in toweling.

I am back!

I have put aside blogging for months due to mixture of laziness and a bit of lack of inspiration. However, isn't it inspiring the fact that three close beautiful mums are about to repeat maternity by having no less than three baby girls! They are about to be born in and I have to rush if I want them to have what I am making for them in the next weeks.
This diaper changing pad is something I've just finished so far.

Oh my baby bibs!!

I've made these two baby bibs for my cute four-month-old nephew and

for my colleague's baby boy, who will be born in just four months.

The pattern is from "Bend the Rules" and the fabric used is pure percale cotton.

You might remember this patch bib I made more than a year ago.
