Bag period

Picasso had a blue period and I think I'm having a "handbag period". It isn't my intention comparing myself with an artist; but I'd like to start sewing some piece of clothes and, I don't know why, my first intentions end up in bags lately.
Picasso tuvo un periodo Azul y yo creo estoy pasando por un periodo de Bolsos. No es que me este comparando con un artista; pero, no sé por qué, quisiera empezar a coser ropa y estas primeras intenciones terminan siendo bolsos.


I got the outside fabrics in this shop, where you can also buy on-line, and have good prices.
Compré las telas de fuera las compré en esta tienda, donde también puedes comprar on-line a buen precio.

Handbag therapy

There's nothing like making a handbag when you're down and doesn't stop raining outside; that's way I called this one my "therapy handbag".
No hay nada como ponerse a hacer un bolso cuando estás algo baja de ánimo y, para colmo, no para de llover. De ahí el nombre de "bolso terapia!"

All fabrics are from Ikea and the pattern is from "bend-the-rules".
Todas las telas utilizadas son de ikea y el patrón es de este libro.
It has room for the everyday basics... my back will be greatful (aren't you fed up with maxi-handbags?)

patch bib

I met an old friend from school today and was just great to remember old days after not seeing each other for years. She was even more beautiful than she used to be when we were at the secondary school, I guess it is because she is expecting a baby!
I made this bib for her baby:

Getting ready for a sewing weekend

I finally got my books today! I have not had time to look them up properly yet, but everything is getting ready for a disconected sewing weekend: inspiration and patterns are served, my new fabrics are already washed and hanging in the washing line now (hope it won't rain...).
I got some Ikea fabrics, first of all because they have a great design and secondly because they are inexpensive and I would feel miserable if I ruined a more expensive one experimenting with my poor sewing skills.
Eddie Vedder and "Into the Wild" soundtrack will accompany me. If you have not seen this great film or listened its great soundtrack I strongly recomend it.
¡Mis libros han llegado hoy! No he tenido mucho tiempo para ojearlos bien, pero todo empieza a tomar forma para un fin de semana tranquilo de costura: la inspiración y los patrones están servidos, mis telas nuevas están lavadas y secándose (esperemos que no llueva...)
Me hice con unas telas de Ikea, tienen unos diseños muy chulos y no son caras. Me sentiría mal si echara a perder unas más caras experimentando con mis escasos conocimientos de costura.
Eddie Vedder y la banda sonora de la película "Hacía rutas salvajes" me acompañarán. Si no habéis visto esta película ni escuchado su banda sonora, os lo recomiendo firmemente.

favourite handmade

I finally ordered some sewing books a week ago, I was said they would be here in three working days, however I am still waiting and looking forward to having them in my hands.
I would like to show you my favourite handmade:
Finalmente pedí unos libros de costura hace justo una semana. Me dijeron que los tendría en tres días laborales, sin embargo ha pasado una semana y aún sigo esperando, ansiosa de tenerlos en mis manos. Quiero mostraros algo, hecho a mano, que me encanta:


This pretty handmade make-up bag was given to me by my dear Ms Lavender around a year ago, and has been in my handbag since them. I just love it! it has the perfect size for your basic make-up.
Se trata de un neceser de maquillaje, hecho a mano por mi querida Srta. Lavanda, que me encanta y que llevo en mi bolso desde que lo me regaló hace como un año. Tiene un tamaño perfecto para meter lo más básico de maquillaje diario.
